Rediscover Picasso’s spirit in the new museum shop at 4 rue de Thorigny, and as always at the sales counter in the museum.

In October 2014, the Musée National Picasso – Paris made waves as the museum reopened after remodeling. At this occasion, after a public consultation , the Réunion des musées nationaux – Grand Palais was entrusted the management of the areas of the gift shop.

The first shop was opened in the Hôtel Salé, and contains a combination of general interest publications and rare editions, as well as an assortment of postcards, notebooks and gifts, some of them were published exclusively for the shop.

One year later, the Réunion des musées nationaux – Grand Palais, opened in partnership with the Musée National Picasso – Paris, a new shop, in a different location, right in front of the Hôtel Salé, designed by the French architect Jean-François Bodin.

The new shop tells the story of Picasso’s life in his studio. A studio of yesterday and of tomorrow, filled with simple and timeless objects, with a hint of avant-garde, just as Picasso liked.
The raw materials (hardly polished floors, exposed beams, wooden and metal shelves where you could find paintbrushes or family portraits…) welcome beautiful objects, of different price categories. Cubist vases, stylized doves, an African mask, a mandolin and sketchbooks… Multiple adjoining rooms invite the visitor to discover one universe to another, from tableware to textile, when going through the working studio and the children’s area.

This unique place also offers a very complete bibliography about Picasso’s life and work and more widely about modern and contemporary art.
Artists, designers and creators will bring this concept-store to life with their talent and their exclusive creations.
Furthermore, the abundant offer will change as often as Picasso’s creative mood.
