A “rooftop café” at the Musée national Picasso-Paris
The staircase with its iridescent aluminium stripe guide visitors to a rooftop café on the 1st floor of the Musée Picasso-Paris, “Le Café sur le toit”.
Like a workshop, this sober, elegant place under the roof timbers is home to a generous sales counter and openings to the outside for natural lighting. The tones and materials used – natural wood and white lacquer, stone and slate – contribute to the serenity of this exceptional spot.
The café-tea room welcomes you for a bite to eat at a big, friendly “table d’hôte” or standing at high bar tables, while a summer terrace lets the customer take a “hanging” break in the centre of Paris with a view over the Hôtel Salé.
A generous offer for an “inspired gourmet break”
“Le Café sur le toit” invites visitors to extend their visit for a meal or a gourmet break at any time of the day during the museum’s opening hours. This offer stresses good products in season and a few Spanish specialities, in memory of Pablo Picasso’s origins.
At lunchtime, there are delicious, vitamin-packed salads and fresh sandwiches. Visitors can also have a hot meal, choosing between the dish of the day, toasted sandwiches, soup or a savoury tart. The wide range of desserts gives a sweet finish to the meal.
A tea room selection takes over in the afternoon, with a selection of emblematic pastries and ice creams from Maison Angelina, as well as many cold and hot beverages.
Delicious platters are also available for sharing (Spanish charcuterie platters, “Palette du Café sur le toit”, etc.) for a fun time.
